Increase to the National Minimum Wage October 2011
Make sure you remember to update your records and payroll, as the increase in national minimum wage came into effect from Saturday 1st October 2011. To remind you, here is a breakdown of who gets what;
· Adults aged 21 years of age and over will get an hourly increase of 15 pence, from £5.93 to £6.08
· 18 – 20 year olds that make up the Youth Development Rate, will increase by 6 pence per hour, from £4.92 to £4.98
· 16-17 year olds will now be 4 pence per hour better off, with an increase from £3.64 to £3.68.
Apprentices either in their first year of study, or those under 19 years of age will see an increase of 10 pence per hour from £2.50 to £2.60. Make sure you are up to date!
